Well, that is the million-dollar question!! Perhaps not :) this light installed is what's called a "photocell light" and the difference between this and a PIR is that a PIR detects motion and the photocell detects and works with the light.... so a photocell light comes on at dusk and goes off at dawn, so you would conclude, that it's more of a luxury! They look nice just gently glowing away, and of course the bulbs are LED.
However, the question is, how do we do this!! The answer lies within Smart Home Technology, within this Photocell light are two Phillips Hue Smart bulbs.. and they can be set at different colour temperatures and turned off/on via a phone app... I would personally recommend the Phillips Hue lights... I think the moods they can create within your home are fantastic!! You can even get them to sync with your TV!! But that's for another day...
